JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher

REPORTS TO: Principal/Assistant Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides learning experiences by following the lesson plans developed by the lead teacher.
• Manages the conduct and behavior in the classroom.
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.   
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by the building principal/assistant principal.

WORKING CONDITIONS/EXPECTATIONS

Working in a school setting. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy indoor environment with work inside about 85% of the time and work outside about 15% of the work schedule. Ability to stand/sit and/or squat for extended periods of time. Perform other duties that may be assigned.

All new hiring will happen through the Human Resources office. Drop-in interviews for new substitutes will happen every Thursday afternoon throughout the school year; come by anytime between 1-3:30pm to 566 Main Street, North Andover. We have instituted a new substitute system for 2024-2025 managed through the Frontline Absence Management System. Subs will be required to download an app to their phone for notifications of openings. Substitutes will be able to self-select one or multiple schools in which to work and/or from which to get notifications. 

PAY RATE: $100/day
